Webinar on Human Rights Education in Higher Education

 

The Global Campus of Human Rights in partnership with Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is organising a webinar on Human rights Education in Higher Education: Pathways for Youth Empowerment on 13 December 2023 at 13:00 - 14:00 (CET). The webinar is part of the United Nations initiatives for the 75th UDHR commemorations (December HR75 spotlight: Human rights education for youth). It takes place in the framework of the Global Campus Capacity Development programme, and is powered by the Global Campus E-learning Department. Click this link to register. 

 

 

 

 

Certificate of Advanced Studies in Responsible Business Conduct (CAS RBC) at the University of Zurich

 

The Centre for Human Rights of the University of Zurich is introducing the Certificate of Advanced Studies in Responsible Business Conduct. The  programme provides an overview of the content of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct, the leading international standard, and outlines the obligations arising from EU legislation on due diligence. The certificate is designed for business professionals, as well as employees of non-profit organizations and public authorities, regardless of their location. It is therefore conducted in English and entirely online. The CAS RBC runs from February 2024 to June 2024, with classes held on Fridays and Saturdays. Upon successful completion of the programme, participants will receive the Certificate of Advanced Studies in Responsible Business Conduct from the University of Zurich. Call for proposals, Louis Bruyns scholarship, University of Antwerp

For 2024, UCSIA will finance a scholarship for a PhD student at a university in the Global South, who wants to spend a period at the University of Antwerp under the supervision of a UAntwerp academic staff member. During his/her stay at UAntwerp, the student will also co-organize a public event on a topic of concern for the Global South, in line with UCSIA’s theme of solidarity in Europe and the World. The scholarship consists of a monthly allowance of 1750 euro for a maximum duration of 10 months (starting at the latest on the 1 October 2024) and travel costs. Call for Applications Sustainable Development and Global Justice (SUSTJUTSICE) Postgraduate Programme 

The University of Antwerp Law Faculty’s Law and Development Research Group will be running a post-graduate certificate programme on “Sustainable Development and Global Justice” (SUSTJUSTICE) from February to May 2024. SUSTJUSTICE offers a comprehensive teaching programme based on the research lines of the Law and Development Research Group, combining its primary focus on law with an interdisciplinary approach that considers the complex nature of the topic. The programme embraces diversity. It has attracted a diverse student body, with participants from around the globe. It also provides a diverse teaching team, including leading experts from the North and South who discuss salient features of their disciplines and encourage students to reflect upon critical challenges in sustainable development and global justice. The deadline for application is 23 December, 23h59 (GMT +2). Find out more here 

AHRI Conferences

The next annual AHRI conference will be hosted by the Raoul Wallenberg Institute in Lund, Sweden, 12-14 September 2024. A call for papers will be circulated in December. The following year, in September 2025,  the conference will be hosted by Instituto de Democracia y Derechos Humanos at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú in Lima, Peru.
