Summer Program of Advanced Studies on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law
The Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law at the American University Washington College of Law invites applications for its 2024 summer school on advanced studies on human rights and humanitarian law which will hold from 27 May – 14 June 2024. The Program offers a broad spectrum of classes taught by over 40+ world-renowned faculty members in both English and Spanish over the course of three intensive weeks. Participants with a law degree and non-lawyers with a strong interest and tracked experience in the field of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law are welcomed to apply. Through this Program, the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law provides the unique opportunity to learn and engage with judges of the International Criminal Court (ICC), the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Special Rapporteurs and Committee members of United Nations, members of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, experts from prominent NGOs, and professors from all over the world. Bonavero Institute Student Fellowships
The Bonavero Institute of Human Rights at the University of Oxford invites application for its Student Fellowships. The aim of the Bonavero Student Fellowships programme is to provide opportunities for students to apply and improve their knowledge of human rights law and to obtain a valuable platform to develop careers in this field. Students will have the opportunity to work with a range of organisations working in the field of human rights law, including the rule of law. These, among others, include senior appellate courts, world-leading NGOs and research institutions. The Student Fellowships Programme gives our students a chance to explore their professional options in a variety of otherwise unpaid placements, both within the UK and across the world. Call for papers: Comparative Law Review
"Comparative Law Review" is inviting submissions for its next volume (30), which will be published in December 2024. CLR (ISSN 0866-9449, e-ISSN 2391-7644) is a diamond open access, peer-reviewed and refereed international journal published by the Faculty of Law and Administration at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (Poland) since 1989.
The journal is indexed with and included in Index Copernicus Journals Master List, ERIH PLUS, CEEOL, DOAJ and SCOPUS (starting from vol. 25).
In this call, we specifically invite submissions addressing legal aspects and challenges posed by climate change, as well as other factors connected with the environment. Given the crucial role that law and lawyers play in environmental governance and strategic litigation within these realms, the relevance and timeliness of comparative research become even more apparent.
The deadline for submissions for CLR vol. 30 is 1 April 2024.

Call for Special Issue: Oxford Human Rights Hub
The University of Oxford Human Rights Hub Journal invites submission for Special Issue. The University of Oxford Human Rights Hub Journal is an open-access and peer-reviewed journal on human rights, dedicated to advancing the study of international and comparative human rights law. Proposals should consist of three to five papers that address a topic of high current interest in the field of international, regional, comparative or national human rights law. Each submission should be in the range of 10,000 to 12,000 words. The guest editors for the Special Issue should, through the extension of invitations to authors, attempt to advance the goal of supporting diversity of authorship and perspectives, including diversity with regard to gender, race, disability, geography and otherwise underrepresented groups.
Proposals should be submitted via email to oxfordhumanrightshub@law.ox.ac.uk and should consist of the following: An outline of 400-800 words explaining which topic the Special Issue addresses, why it is desirable to devote a Special Issue to this topic and how the papers form a coherent collection. A proposed table of contents, listing the preliminary titles of all papers, an abstract (approx. 200 words) for each paper, and a bio (approx. 50 words) for each contributing author. TELSP - Toruń Economic and Legal Summer Program
The Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management and the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland, are pleased to welcome applications for the 4th edition of the TELSP program. Fellowships are sponsored by the NCU (accommodation, daily allowance and social events). Travel costs will not be reimbursed. TELSP is an opportunity for students to develop a research project (under the supervision of NCU Faculty members) during a 4-week-long summer fellowship.
Applicants may choose from a range of research areas, including human rights related topics:
- International human rights standards and their domestic implementation (supervisor: Dr Julia Kapelańska-Pręgowska)
- Inclusive and pluralistic societies. A human rights approach (supervisor: Dr Julia Kapelańska-Pręgowska)
- Human rights law – an idea or a practical concept? (Supervisor: Dr Piotr Sadowski)
Eligibility: undergraduate and graduate students from foreign universities who are academically active and strongly motivated to pursue a designated research project.
Apart from the projects, once a week we will organize an invited lecture and a lunch or dinner for the entire group. We will also offer short trips / sightseeing in the Toruń area on selected weekends. All students will be asked to give presentations about the results of their projects at the end of their stay in Toruń. The fellowship dates is 19 August 2024 to 15 September 2024. Gordon Henderson Postdoctoral Fellowship 2024-2025
The competition for the Gordon F. Henderson Postdoctoral Fellowship 2024-2025 is now open. The Gordon F. Henderson Postdoctoral Fellowship is offered to a researcher who will spend one year at the University of Ottawa’s Human Rights Research and Education Centre (HRREC) to develop a research focus that is consistent with the Centre’s mandate and that promotes an innovative perspective. Multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches to the proposed research project will be given preference.
